An honest fact weighs less than a funeral

First, cut the domino effect

You do not have to wait until tomorrow or put an old identity back on. Whatever remains, change places and make the next decision available: water, food, a shower, a walk or sleep. Do not drive or do safety-sensitive work while impaired.

Then look at the scene with precision

  • Where and with whom were you?
  • What happened after half an hour?
  • What sentence gave you permission?
  • What help would have had to appear earlier?

“I lacked willpower” often goes too far. “I arrived home without dinner, there was cannabis in the house and I opened a beer” gives you something concrete to prepare differently.

Choose how to continue

You can resume your pause from the next moment. If you have ALO21, the calendar continues from your chosen date: smoking does not restart it or add days of email. You can record what happened if that helps; an unrecorded day is not counted as a day without smoking. If you need another kind of support, you can ask for it before the programme ends.

Getting more support can be a quiet decision

If the same scene keeps repeating, or you simply want to understand it with somebody, you can speak to a professional or harm-reduction project. You do not need a disaster to justify asking. ALO supports the day-to-day; Resources opens other doors without sharing your data by default.

Questions that appear the following day

Have I lost every day before?

No. What you did and observed remains. Counting smoke-free days requires honest records, but using once does not erase what you learned, the decisions you made or your ability to continue.

Do I have to get back to Day 1?

No. You can continue today and prepare differently for the next difficult moment. Returning to your personal decision does not mean rescheduling Day 1 in ALO21. If you need to discuss the start of the service, write to Albert before assuming that dates or emails will change.

How do I avoid repeating that tonight?

Change one concrete part of the scene: remove the materials, prepare dinner, leave alcohol out of the plan or alert somebody you trust. If the urge arrived suddenly, read what to do with a craving. If it felt automatic, see how to recognize the pattern.
