Everyday moments

Autopilot does not smoke. But it gets there first.

Six everyday moments. The time changes; the argument often arrives fully prepared.

Six scenes, without judgment

The useful thing happens a little earlier.

You do not need to explain your life. Just look at what happens immediately beforehand and place one small action between the scene and the joint.

Transition

You closed the laptop. Not your hands.

The working day is over, but the gesture carries on. You stand up, take out the materials and only then find a reason: autopilot knows how to write a report too.

Before you finish: write down where you will pick up tomorrow and prepare your first bit of rest.

Getting home · 18:32

You got home. Autopilot did too.

Keys, jacket, couch. The body knows the path before the head convenes the meeting.

When you get home: leave a reminder by your keys of what you will do before heading to the sofa.

After dinner · 21:06

Dinner is over. The ritual wants dessert.

It proves nothing about you. It only points to an association rehearsed over time: finish one thing, light the next.

After dinner: have a song, a few pages or a conversation ready for what comes next.

Silence · 23:48 · sofa

The sofa has already saved your seat.

At last, nobody is asking for anything. Smoking looks like the only way to switch off. The sofa already knows the script.

Keep the rest: get something you want to do ready and clear your smoking things from that space.

Sleep

“If I don’t smoke, I don’t sleep.”

Stopping can bring unusual dreams. There are also screens, light, timing and the fear of lying awake for hours.

For tonight: leave the screen outside the bedroom for 20 minutes. If insomnia persists, is intense or overwhelms you, this exercise does not replace professional help.

The next morning · 07:12

The morning does not hand out grades.

Smoking or not smoking last night does not mean you passed or failed. The useful part comes just before the verdict.

For tonight: remember one moment from yesterday and prepare one thing differently.

The scene is still yours.

You do not have to win the night. You need to see it coming.
